Protect yourself
- Never give an unsolicited caller remote access to your computer and mobile.
- Never give your personal, Credit / Debit card or online account details over the phone unless you made the call and the phone number came from a trusted source.
- If you receive a phone call out of the blue about your computer and remote access is requested –Stop there– even if they mention a well-known company.
- Any Bank / Company does not request Credit / Debit card details over the phone to fix computer or telephone problems, and is not affiliated with any Banks / Companies that do.
- Remember that you can still receive scam calls even if you have a private number Scammers can obtain your number fraudulently.
- Make sure your computer / mobile is protected with regularly updated anti-virus and anti-spyware software, and a good firewall.
- Research first and only purchase software from a source that you know and trust.
- If you have fallen victim to a scam or you receive a lot of unsolicited emails and phone calls consider changing your email address and phone numbers.

- जोपर्यंत तुम्ही कॉल केला नाही आणि फोन नंबर विश्वसनीय स्त्रोताकडून आला नाही तोपर्यंत तुमचे वैयक्तिक, क्रेडिट/डेबिट कार्ड किंवा ऑनलाइन खात्याचे तपशील फोनवर कधीही देऊ नका.
- जर तुम्हाला तुमच्या काँप्युटरबद्दल व मोबाइलबद्दल फोन आला आणि रिमोट ऍक्सेसची विनंती केली गेली असेल तर - तिथेच थांबा- जरी त्यांनी एखाद्या सुप्रसिद्ध कंपनीचा उल्लेख केला असला तरीही.
- कोणतीही बँक/कंपनी संगणक किंवा दूरध्वनी समस्यांचे निराकरण करण्यासाठी फोन वरून क्रेडिट/डेबिट कार्ड तपशीलांची विनंती करत नाही आणि अशा कोणत्याही बँका/कंपन्यांशी संलग्न नाही.
- लक्षात ठेवा की तुमचा खाजगी नंबर असला तरीही तुम्ही स्कॅम कॉल प्राप्त करू शकता स्कॅमर तुमचा नंबर फसवणूक करून मिळवू शकतात.
- तुमचा संगणक/मोबाइल नियमितपणे अपडेट केलेले अँटी-व्हायरस आणि अँटी-स्पायवेअर सॉफ्टवेअर आणि चांगल्या फायरवॉलने संरक्षित असल्याची खात्री करा.
- जर तुम्ही एखाद्या घोटाळ्याला बळी पडला असाल किंवा तुम्हाला अनेक अवांछित ईमेल आणि फोन कॉल्स येत असतील तर तुमचा ईमेल पत्ता आणि फोन नंबर बदलण्याचा विचार करा.
